Background and Experience
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL with a specialty in cognitive behavioral treatments (CBT) for anxiety disorders and chronic pain. I completed a clinical post-doctoral fellowship at the Anxiety Disorders Center/Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Hartford Hospital/Institute of Living in Hartford, CT where I acquired a specialty in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) as well as in the treatment for anxiety, panic, hoarding, and depressive disorders using CBT. Following my post-doctoral fellowship, I remained on staff as a licensed clinical psychologist until 2018 before opening my private practice in Concord, Massachusetts.
I have authored The Big Book of Exposures: Innovative, Creative, and Effective CBT-Based Exposures for Treating Anxiety-Related Disorders (New Harbinger Publications), a book for professionals in the field of psychology, as well as several scientific journal articles as well as book chapters in the fields of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and chronic pain.
